Anyone applying for PhD studentship in University of Nottingham for Fall 2025

Hi,

This is Faizan, and I am applying for a PhD studentship at the University of Nottingham for Fall 2025 titled "PhD Studentship: Digital-Twinning of Electric Propulsion Systems". I am just at the end of completing my application, but I am stuck at the stage of submitting a research proposal for this post. The job description does not mention submitting a research proposal, and the university website also writes that for studentships, a research proposal may not be required. I had also contacted the supervisor but got no response. So, what should I do? And if anyone else applying for the same job can help.

Thanks

Hello @faizanzhr!

I have also applied for a PhD at University of Nottingham a couple of weeks ago. I was told to apply through the myNottingham Hub (click on "Apply for a course"). Nonetheless, I was interested in the "Space Systems and Astrodynamics PhD" and I was told to apply under the umbrella of a different PhD name in the online portal, which was asking me for a research proposal (1 page approx.). Make sure that your theme does align with the research areas of the supervisor.

I would try to get in touch with the admissions team at the university in the event that the supervisor does not respond. There is more information with regards to how contact them (either by telephone or through online forms): Contact.

I hope it helps,
Abian.

Thanks. I had used online form also but got no response from the supervisor as their engineering team also tried to sent my request to him.
