hey first off I wanna say im rlly proud of u for getting those grades it’s really impressive and u should be really happy with yourself, I’m averaging 6s and 7s (with one 5, two 4s and one 9) based off my 1 set of mocks in November. I really want to achieve grades like yours so I do have a few questions.

1. What would you recommend revising for Christianity and Islam (RE is my worst subject so I’m not 100% sure where to start
2. How often should I be revising(in terms of hours per day and days per week)
3. how do you manage to keep fully focused on revision away from distractions
4. what would you recommend revising for combined higher in order to achieve an 8-8 or higher?

thanks so much and again I’m rly proud

Thank you, and your grades are great! You definitely have time to improve your grades, as November was so long ago!

1.

I made flashcards with quotes, and key information and did a ton of practice questions, so that I would have a basic essay plan for most questions that could come up. I would also recommend for 4 markers, always including a quote as it can really strength your marks, and then 5 markers including two, as it would really ensure that you can get as many marks as possible!

2.

I would recommend revising (depending on the subjects, and how you need to improve in them) 2-4 hours per day, on top of school, to ensure that you can go into exams knowing that you know everything, and can go with complete confidence, so really study until you feel confident, but not burnt out)- which can be different for different people!

3.

I used the app study bunny, so I wouldn't be able to go on my phone, but for my A Level revision I am using flora which is also really fun! I would usually go to my local library after school, as everyone there was revising so you would know you can't just scroll on your phone, you'd have to lock in. And I was most productive as nights, I find it easiest to lock in then (I would recommend either studying late into the night, or early morning- do not do both)

4.

I would recommend the CGP revision guide, and also doing practice papers, as this can really highlight where your issues are. And honestly, if you REALLY don't get something, forget about it (within reason!!!!) as the grade boundaries are low enough that if you really perfect what you know, you can achieve top marks!

But genuinely, DO NOT BURN YOURSELF OUT. Because it is a long period of exams, and you cannot allow your later exams to suffer because you got burnt out (my friend fell asleep in a paper because they did not get enough sleep).

hii! HOWW do you do power and conflict. like i dont understand how im supposed to memorise those poems at allll and unseen poetry as well like i do not understand how to do unseen.
ive been doing pretty much all night before revision for all my mocks because i cant focus to save my life and my current predicted grades are :
bio- 7 chem- 8 phys- 9 maths- 8 comp sci- 7 music- 7 eng lang- 8 history- 9 eng lit- 7 german - 8
can i go up? like in terms of comparing mock results to actual gcses do they end up being similar? im aiming for mostly 9s.

Heyyy!! Great grades btw, how often did you study in year 10?

hey for Jekyll and Hyde do u follow a fixed structure depending on the question for each paragraph or do you just try to mush everything together (point evidence explanation technique etc…)

For Power and Conflict I made essay plans, so like I would chose a poem, and topic, and then pick the poem that I would compare it to if I got that poem, choosing quotes an points I would make.
Unseen I practiced annotating songs actually! I found it more engaging, and you can find deeper meanings on the songs you love!
You can definitely go up! Those are AMAZING grades to have now, and as long as you lock in you can genuinely get mostly 9s!

Migration was not fun to revise, this website has quite a good amount of resources that I used: https://www.tutor2u.net/history/reference/key-events-and-individuals-for-migrants-in-britain-summary-sheet-for-edexcel-gcse-history. I made flashcards covering each group and a timeline that helped me visualise! Good luck!

Past Papers! And I also recommend listening to videos and podcasts in Spanish (make sure it is for learners!). Also, flashcards for all key-words, and grammar and stuff like that  if you have any other questions feel free to ask

I recommend doing the description, not the story, as you have something to start with then. You honestly don't need an overly complex story, as the examiners recognise that you don't have much time.
If it is a hard to do (don't blame you, language papers are a struggle) then I would recommend making a basic plan beforehand, that you then put into any image/ scene you get given! Good luck!

Make sure you don't get burnt out!!!! The period is so long, by the time I got to my last physics paper I could barely revise. So make sure you get good sleep, it will be hard to get the full 9 hours, but even a solid 6/7 is good enough (but do try to get more sleep when you don't have an exam).
And make sure you delegate time well, if you know you are definitely getting a higher grade in a subject, priorite that. If you know that you want to do that subject next year, prioritise that. If you have coursework due, make sure you finish it ASAP and I mean as soon as possible, so you can focus on the other exams
