Do I have to pick my firm and insurance at the same time?

I have recieved all my offers and am sure about my first choice, but I'm really unsure about my insurance. I have a few offer holder days booked for the univerisities I am considering for my insurance choice, but I am being told by my parents that I should select my firm now and my insurance later, as apparently this gives me a better chance at the accomodation I want if I apply earlier. But I'm not sure if I can select my firm now and then choose an insurance later, or if applying for accomodation earlier even gives me a better chance at getting good accomodation. Should I do this, or wait until I've made a decision on my insurance?

You have to pick both F&I at the same time.

And btw, the 'accommodation' thing is total bunkum - no Uni is that short of accommodation - and any attempt by any Unis to suggest otherwise should be totally ignored, Its just their rather feeble attempt at arm-twisting to make you pick them . Do you really want to go to a Uni that is that is so desperate for students has to BRIBE them? You have until JUNE to make this choice - go to Offer Holder days, look around, ask questions and make a calm, thought-out decision. This is an important decision and there is no need to rush.
