Still waiting on University offers

I've applied for Bsc Economics at Warwick, Bath, Bristol, Durham and Manchester and have got rejected from Durham and Manchester so far with no word from the other 3. I applied with good predicted grades (A* maths, A* economics, A physics) and was told i had a very good personal statement but after the first 2 rejections i am not so confident on receiving offers from the other 3 especially Warwick as i only got a 3.8 in TMUA.

Am i cooked and should start planning a gap year to apply again next year or do i remain hopeful about the final 3?

The universities have until May, so I’d wait (be hopeful) until then at least, you might get an offer.

Hi,

Final year Arabic and Economics student here,

Every university has its own timeline for responding to applications, and competitive universities—especially those with a high volume of applicants—can take until May or even June to send out offers. Warwick, Bath, and Bristol all have strong economics departments, so they may take longer to assess applications thoroughly.
While you wait, it's good to have a backup plan. If things don’t go as hoped, you could consider Clearing, where universities like SOAS and others often have spots available for economics-related courses. You could also explore the idea of a gap year if you’d like to reapply with a stronger TMUA score or consider other options.
For now, stay hopeful—no news is still good news!

This thread is about undergrad Economics applications. You'd be best off calling the uni to check the status of your application.

Hi there!

Sorry we're coming to this a bit late - congrats on your offer from Warwick! Have we got back to you yet? If not then please don't worry, we will do by the end of April. The reason we take a while is because A) we get an enormous amount of applications, and B) we are very thorough when assessing everyone's applications.

Let us know if you have any questions!
