What happens if I just don't go to college

im in year 12 and ive been self employed since around year 8 by making music and education is useless for me and has been for years. i'm struggling mentally like crazy and i cant put up with going to college especially when it's a complete waste of my time. i know that loads of people in my age group are just out of college and i wondered what would happen if i just stop going too. my parents seem to think that they'll get in trouble if i stop going but ive heard otherwise from people on the internet. please can someone give me some advice or help me with this matter, thank you

Your parents are right that it's a requirement for you to be in education or training right now. (Under Part 1 of Education and Skills Act 2008 young people aged 16 and 17 who have not attained level 3 qualifications of sufficient size are under a duty to continue in education or training until their 18th birthday).

However, there are no real penalties for failing to comply.

Sure, as long as you're happy to stress-out your parents from then until your 18th birthday.
Absolutely nothing happens except your parents stop getting child benefit for you.
That's it.
