As the title suggests, why is Nottingham giving me an A*AA or A*A*B, they're not Oxbridge, they're hardly Leeds. So please someone tell me why I'm getting such a high offer, no one is going to nottngham to study let's be so real its a tier uni 3 at best. Gradeflation man wtf

It’s also top 5 for pharmacy. Used to be #1. I attended and couple teachers told me who I got close with told me before the entry requirements were small but now so many people apply one of the reasons they had to increase the grade boundaries was due to high number of applicants. They’re also an international uni

Really dependent on how you define the tiers, and imo uni tier lists are very arbitrary

What did Nottingham do to deserve this 😭? The offers they give you are so that you’re best prepared for the degree, right? There’s no point in giving out BCD offers if that only sets up the student to struggle at uni.

The offer a uni gives is often associated with the predicted grades one has. If you are predicted A*AA, and the course has a typical offer of AAA, they would probably give you an A*AA offer, but take you anyway if you got AAA or AAB.

Nottingham and Leeds are on about the same level overall. Over the last 40 years, Nottingham has been one of the outstanding universities for UK undergraduate education, although in the last 15 years or so they have focused more on internationalising their uni, and improving their jaw dropping uni estate. Leeds was viewed as academically a bit inferior, but has grown in reputation over the last ten years, thanks to increased annual turnover and external funding. That has probably happened because Leeds is a richer city than Nottingham, which is more deprived. I would still say the Nottingham is the nicer looking uni.
