Questions on Visa Application for IMGs

Hi there, IMG and incoming F1 doctor here.

I'm ashamed to admit how little I know of the Skilled Worker Visa application process so I did some reading and the upfront application costs truly shocked me. Truly a wake up call to start budgeting my finances beginning now before I make the move to the UK in August.

Just needed a few clarifications from fellow IMGs or those who have gone through this before. I understand we will be given a Certificate of Sponsorship before Visa application sometime soon, however:

- What is the duration of our Visa (Is it mentioned in the CoS??)

- In the Immigration website, they mention that we have to make 2 payments upfront which are the health surcharge fee (£1035 each year of the visa) and the application fee (£1,420 for more than 3 years/ £719 if it's less than 3 years). So would that mean, we need to pay for example for a 3 year Skilled Worker Visa: £3, 105 (in health surcharge) + £1 420 (for application) = a total of £4 526

Are my calculations correct? Thank you in advance for the replies, much appreciated!
