St Andrews vs KCL

Hello

I'm an international student and have applied to foundation year programs at both St Andrews and KCL, aiming to progress to economics. I've received an offer from St Andrews and am still waiting on KCL.

I believe St Andrews might offer better employment prospects in investment banking, but its small size and remote location scare me. On the other hand, London offers an incredible social scene and there's always something to do (though it's expensive) and KCL, while a great uni, may not have the same reputation or IB access as St Andrews.

For those who’ve studied at St Andrews, is the social life really as quiet as people say? Is it common to go to Edinburgh/Glasgow/Manchester/London or even other European cities such as Madrid/Paris/Amsterdam for the weekend?

Im going to St Andrews. I love the fact it's smaller, by the sea and Countryside and has a quieter pace of life. I do hear the house parties are what St Andrews students make the most of. Which suits me as its a lot cheaper!

If you want an expensive city life, KCL. If you want a quaint lower key life then Andrews.

lol funnily enough i'd say as much as youre right about the size and remoteness, it's st andrews that offers the good social scene and London that doesn't. London offers nothing to students, it's just a major city for major city type things, st andrews is a student-dominated town with a 'home-made' nightlife. London has proper nightclubs but they're all dying anyway after covid. i think they're both about equal on job prospects, might even give Kings the edge tbh

Im also holding an offer from St Andrews. I have an offer for MSc Banking and Finance. Just got rejected from KCL for MSc Corporate Finance but oh well, we move. I am waiting to hear back from other unis before I make a decision. What's your ig if you don't mind, ill shoot a message there especially if we end up going same uni and since both of us are interested in IB? Good luck for KCL offer btw.
