would i be marked down for only having 4600 ish words on my EPQ? my supervisor keeps sending me the wrong word counts and i darent add too many or too little.

Nope. The specification (here) for AQA's EPQ says, "A project product which consists solely of a research based written report should be approximately 5000 words, for example a research report of a scientific investigation, exploration of a hypothesis or an extended essay or academic report in appropriate form."

So 5000 words is neither a limit nor a minimum. It's just a guideline so you know roughly what size of project they're looking for.

(If you're doing a an EPQ from a different exam board, just let us know.)
