Is it possible to go from BDD to ABB in 2.5 months for A-Level Business, Maths, and G

Hey everyone,

I’m feeling a bit stressed and could really use some advice. I’m currently studying A-Level Business (AQA), Maths, and Geography (Edexcel), and my recent January mock results are BDD. I’ve got about 2.5 months until my exams, and I’m really hoping to achieve my offer of ABB.

I know it’s a big jump, but I’m ready to put in the work. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is it actually possible to make this kind of progress in a short amount of time? I’d love to hear any advice, study tips, or stories of how you managed to improve your grades.

Thanks so much!

What was the teacher feedback on the mocks?
It depends on your areas of weakness for Business and Geog - exam technique? application of knowledge? knowledge gaps?
Maths - again, where do the issues lie? Do you have particular weak areas? How many practice papers have you done prior to the mocks?

Hammer past papers keep doing past papers till you get the grades, familiarise yourself with the papers and questions. And try to understand the actual topics and concepts or any models

Honestly I’m in the same position and I think it’s definitely doable as long as you cut out all distractions and burry yourself in your work. Since there isn’t much time you have to be grinding 24/7 no excuses

Hey, i’m in yr13 and also do edexcel maths and geo
I would recommend doing a RAG spreadsheet (Red = topics you’re very weak on, Amber = topics you’re a bit weak on, Green = topics you’re strong on) for each topic for all your subjects using your mock papers.

For maths (i’ve gone from a C in yr12 to an A at the moment), if you’re getting reds on specific topics, you may need to relearn those topics. I’d recommend watching TlMaths/Bicen Maths/Zeeshan on yt and then completing the E/P questions in the maths edexcel textbook (or practice book) for the topic to consolidate. Also, obviously, do past papers. If you haven’t finished the spec. yet, you can do As papers for now. Also don’t forget to revise statistics and mechanics. If you want to challenge yourself, there is more difficult content on MadAs Maths (but don’t rely on this solely as you’ll need to do past papers/past edexcel questions to understand the mark scheme).

For geography (i’m on an A/B atm), make sure you know the content fairly well (make sure you understand concepts, remember your models, and overlapping topics like the IGOs) and have a comprehensive list of case studies you’re ready to use in exam questions for each topic. If you know the content well already, it is likely that you are losing marks due to poor exam technique. For 12 markers (assess), make sure to write at least 3 paragraphs and a conclusion (essential) (a brief introduction outlining your answer is also ideal, but not required and shouldn’t be done if you don’t have a lot of time). In your 12 mark assessment questions, a structure you can follow to make sure you are assessing is writing what you think the most important factor is (and why!) for your first paragraph, writing the second most important factor in the second paragraph (and why it is less important), and the least important factor (+weakness of it) for the third paragraph. For your 20 markers, do an introduction (outlining your factors and defining keywords in the question), 4 main paragraphs, and a conclusion (essential). Make sure to both agree and disagree paragraphs. A conclusion for both essays is essential because most marks come from application/analysis/assessment/evaluation, rather than knowledge.
If you revise effectively from now, improving your grades to ABB should be possible!!

Hi I do A Level Business and Geography and I think you can definitely change your grades in the time. I will link resources if you want. Business you need to make sure you are analysing the effects of whatever the question is asking. Geography includes real life example and always develop your response. If you want more tips just ask
