Foundation separate science vs higher separate science?

First time asking a question but I need help deciding between foundation separate and higher for biology. I’m a year 11 and GCSES are in around 2 months, recently my teacher told me I have to do foundation separate for bio as I got a grade 3 and my other sciences/subjects are fine like 4,5,6,7s (which I didn’t know separate foundation was a thing) but I was also told if I really don’t want to then I can switch back to higher but I have to let them know quick… my main concern is the fact that I can only get up to a grade 5 and I felt it was easier to get a better grade in higher separate bio(even tho I didn’t ) but I’m not sure what I should do?

It sounds like you're in a tough spot, but don't stress out you'll do good. Since you’re currently on a grade 3, your teacher is probably recommending foundation separate because it might give you a better chance of securing a solid pass (grade 4 or 5). Foundation papers tend to have more straightforward questions and no super high-demand topics, so if you struggle with certain areas of biology, this might make it easier to pick up marks.
However, if you feel that you can improve and get at least a grade 6 with some extra revision, then higher could be worth considering. I'll recommend you to do at least 3 past paper for now (for higher) and see how you do in them. I hope this helps and you still have time to improve your grade so don't stress out and stay consistent.

BEST OF LUCK!!!
