A-Level Further Maths

I originally picked maths, history and English literature for A-Levels but my parents said I should do at least 2 ‘reasonable’ subjects AKA STEM but I hate all the sciences. I kind of wanted to do further maths but I didn’t think I would be good at it because I’m not doing it for GCSE. I’m predicted a 6 but I got grade 8 in my last mock and I am aiming for an 8/9. I’m thinking of either dropping history or English for further maths or doing all 4. If you do further maths for A-Level or picked similar subjects tell me your thoughts

Ignore your parents. Study what you want to study.

There is no chance they’ll let me do that or understand

It may be that your parents have fallen for the misconception that humanities subjects have no value. In reality, career outcomes for students of the humanities are as good as for STEM students over the medium to long term. Study of the humanities also has inherent value not measurable in financial terms.

Your parents need to realise that they do not own you, and that your life choices must be made by you if you are to be happy.
