Primary Education Interview

Hi, I'm expecting an interview for a place studying Primary Education with QTS. I'm not too sure what to expect but I was told at an open day to bring an item to talk about. Can anyone help me with some advice on this?
I was also told to read up on child protection, I have no problem with this but is there any specific information I should focus on initially? I'm a little worried because I've been out of education for a long time and don't want to miss anything that I will need to be able to follow my dream.

Hi @Akonite

For my interview I had to share an object and how I would use it to teach a lesson. When choosing your object, think about what you would say about it and why you have chosen it. I decided to keep mine fairly simple. If you are unsure of what they are expecting you could email them to ask if they can clarify the task.

When preparing for my interview I focused on the key points of safeguarding and how this links to education and the role of a teacher.

Hi, I recently did my interview for a primary education PGCE course with QTS. I was required to plan a 5 minute presentation on a pre selected topic. They recommended the use of statistics/ relevant/supporting articles, pictures (I had to print them out because you can't share your screen) and real things - I made and showed a tool to help students process emotions and demonstrated how/ why it can be used in the classroom.
In regards to child protection, you should check and understand the principles of safe guarding. I was asked about this in my interview.
