Weird thing a friend said

Is this weird of a friend.

basically my friend (1) and other friend (2) was talking about shoes and (2) mentioned her she wanted to get these trainers and (1) mentioned that me (3) said she liked them too and wanted to get it.

so (2) looked at me and said respectfully don’t get them because she’s getting them

iwas in literal disbelief and now idk what to do like I wanted to get the shoes so I shouldn’t have to stop because someone else liked them but I feel like this would cost of our friendship which is incredibly embarrassing because I would never say such a thing if she wanted to get the shoes as it is just shoes. Never that deep.

I do think that's odd of a friend to say, you could ask your friend why her getting those shoes means you're not allowed to get them too. Either way, a friendship shouldn't have to be at risk just because your friend doesn't want you to buy shoes that they're getting, shoes are shoes at the end of the day.
