    If Shakespeare had had emoticons, Hamlet would be unintelligible.

    I personally think that's what Shakespeare is missing. Think how much it would help the actors! Take Romeo and Juliette as an example:

    Juliette: Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo? :confused:

    and

    Mercutio: A plague on both your houses! :mad: :mad: They have made worms' meat of me

    O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
    Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
    Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love...
    'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
    What's in a name? that which we call a rose
    By any other name would smell as sweet...

    Romeo and Juliet

    Becomes :confused:

    Or

    If music be the food of love, play on;
    Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
    The appetite may sicken, and so die.

    Twelfth Night

    Becomes

    And, of course

    Cowards die many times before their deaths;
    The valiant never taste of death but once."

    Julius Caesar

    Would naturally be :bootyshak:

    So much simpler.

    its gonna take ages to wash them all now! :eek:
    Well, I think that Y-fronts would probably suit you, nonetheless.

    I don't think the emoticons alone say enough. Juliette would have to say "wher r u?", the Twelfth Night one could benefit from "aww ". Julius Caesar needs a touch of "LOL u suckz! :bootyshak:"

    Check the lable
    That was all I had to do
    Check the lable
    Now I'm dying without you
    I really had to see
    What you were doing to me
    The lable, held the answers, to be true

    (This would clearly be part of the plot of the "Check the Lable" stage show, see above)
