The Student Room Group

Concerned that I picked the wrong a levels

I do maths economics and business and I’ve been stressing that no matter what grades I get no Russel group uni will accept me as I do business and economics together. If I just get a really good maths grade (A*) can I mitigate this issue? I’m trying to get into Kings College London

Yeah I’m tryna study something to do with econ or finance. And you are right KCl haven’t said anything about it on their website, but I’m just scared they might still just reject me because of it when I actually apply later this year.

They have to state any requirements so if its not there then its not a thing
Hi @babyfather - totally understand you're after KCL which is amazing, but do remember that there's more than the Russell Group out there!

For example, we offer BSc (Hons) Business Economics (2-year degree) - the course is designed to equip you with the skills to progress into economics and management related jobs in finance, business and consulting. We blend business management, business strategy, macro and micro-economics, financial markets and consumer behaviour, together with practical real-world analysis and applications. There are many optional choices built into the programme so you can tailor your degree towards economics or business to suit your career or academic preferences.

(We also have straight BSc (Hons) Economics (Single) (2-year degree))

These options might not be for you and that is totally fine - there's a course out there for everyone and I wish you every success in your exams and applications.

Any questions, let me know!

My son is doing the exact same three A levels and has offers from Oxford, Exeter, Nottingham and Leeds (all top uni’s) for economics/ economics and management/ finance degrees, so worry not!!- just work on getting good grades and good luck!
