How do you know anyone got their rejection after the interview? The only people on gradcafe were without the interview.

yes i know one person who got rejected after interview. the person had applied under Jan deadline. my guess is that, if one got rejected then there might be some who got accepted( i haven't heard of any though). but they probably still have some spots for the march deadline...

I know people who were accepted. When was this rejection sent?

Was rejected on Friday ~5 weeks after my interview! Good luck to the rest of you applying under the later deadline.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure they missed out on a great candidate.
Would it be possible to know around when, after the deadline, they sent out interview requests and what your interview was like?

It's all good I have an offer at Cambridge that I've already accepted so glad it's gone to someone that really wanted it. Yeah here's my timeline

Applied very close to Jan deadline (8th)

Invited to interview on February the 7th, scheduled for February 14th (~ week to prepare)

Rejected on March 21st (portal update and email)

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for your reply!
Do you happen to still remember what the questions were like?

Pretty generic to start with - why do you want to do a phd, why EIT .etc, then they asked quite a lot about my publication in a technical sense; how we trained, tuned the model .etc

They then asked a maths problem on central limit theorem which was fairly standard too but cant remember it too well

Hope this helps

Any new information on this?

Nope still nothing. They have to make their decision next week so either everyone from the March deadline is going to get rejected, there will be no interviews held for us, or somehow we will have to do interviews on extremely short notice.

How come they’ve got to decide by next week?

I emailed admissions and that's just what they said. Also my upload button disappeared. Is yours still there?

Mines still there - applied for March deadline but no interview invite. Assuming that's bad news

That’s not bad news. It means you’re still being considered. I think I just got rejected without interview.

My button is still there but according to a different thread, it doesn't mean much so you might still have a chance

I checked the source code and none of the flags or scan counts that people are talking about exist in there so I am guessing they made a decision but haven’t updated yet? I will check again Monday..

Can one assume then that if they see the upload button that they moved to the interview stage? At this point?
