I would like some guidance for the entry of BSc Dental therapy in London

Hello, I was applying for dental therapy and for the universities that required DDM for Medical science Level 3. However for all of my choices I have been declined (or offered a different course that is not relevant to what I'd want to do) for the reason of "Reference" and that was it. They never specified or mentioned why. Keep in mind I have graduated previously from Biomedical Sciences (Third class, yes I didn't do too well) and my previous reference is no longer valid for Dental therapy. The new reference I have obtained was from my manager in retail.

I called UCAS support and they told me the worst-case scenario would be that I apply through UCAS Extra and reapply for the same universities (they are all full already and you can no longer apply for the university course until next year). My situation might seem silly or unwise, but can anyone guide me to the correct way to enter Dental therapy, or is there something I am missing, such as extra grade requirements?

Thank you very much,

If all the universities which have rejected you have cited the reason as "reference" then it's reasonable to assume that this issue was with your reference, and not with your grades.

The UCAS guidance in references, here, says:

"If you have not been in education for a while, some unis or colleges might consider a different type of reference, such as an employment reference. Requirements vary by provider (and even sometimes by course type), so you must contact your choices for advice on what type of reference you need to provide."

Did you do that? Did you contact them?
