Revision (in year 9)

hi i’m in year 9 and we’ve already started our GCSE content for science. how can i revise for this? and is it worth it? should i also revise for other subjects as well?

do you know what you want to do in the future? If you know you are into something sciency, then definitely. If you are just interested in science now, go look for the spec and do some research about it. But I would say GCSE science is not really difficult so you don't have to do much, maybe just go to google and watch a 5-10 ted talk? Also, have you chosen your GCSE subjects, if yes, maybe have a glance at the spec but don't dive into it yet, as everything could change...

Same situation here, we have already started the GCSE curriculum. I find all the content fairly easy and I don't revise, but I do some extra curricular stuff. However, most people in my school (75%+) people get 9s in Sciences. I would just say to try a little if you're interested, but don't sweat it now - we still have 2 more years...

as the anonymous person said, choose what you like or are good at! bonus points if you are BOTH- the more you like a subject, the more likely you are to be interested in looking at related content in your free time, which could also motivate you to revise and help you in the long term!!

I chose triple science (higher), both eng lang and lit, maths(higher), Chinese, sociology, psychology, business, textiles.

i also agree with all they said, you should choose the one that u like, for example, I chose business because I was interested in it, even though I haven't done anything related to it now, but it is a good memory for me in those lessons as I enjoyed it. Also, I would suggest choosing something you are good at now so that you wont be that struggle with the subject (which would make u hate it). I would say draw 4 boxes, one is u are good at and want to study, one is good at but don't want to study, one is want to study but not good at, one is not good at and not want to study. put all the subjects that ur school provide for gcse into those 4 boxes and this could help u to make up your mind.

i wish my school had business, sociology and psychology. i would’ve picked it in a heartbeat. but i am picking textiles 🤗
