Graduates without a job

Hi, I graduated last year in BSc International Business.

I'm here still without a job. Wasn't able to secure a grad job and most seem to be closed now.

What would you suggest I do?
What kind of roles can I apply.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, not sure which University you studied at but Graduates of the University of Hull are able to access their University's Careers Service free of charge after graduation to gain support such as 1:1 Career Appointments, Skills Workshops, advice on the graduate labour market and entry to Careers Fairs & Events. It may be worth contacting your University's Careers Service to see if you they are able to help you.

Hi, a few accounting firms still have open positions.

For example, KPMG currently has audit in Bristol and Actuarial consulting in Edinburgh - I’ve added a link:
https://www.kpmgcareers.co.uk/search/vacancies/?experienceLevels[0]=Graduate&intakeType=Student

Azets has a few open positions.

EY has 5 graduate roles open -
https://ukstudents.ey.com/?jobs=%26program%5B%5D%3D46&openRoles=1&paged=1

Amazon has a job for Business Development and Account Management Graduate -
https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/2836854/2025-business-development-and-account-management-graduate

Not sure if you’re interested in any of the above, but you can also apply for internships or off-cycle internships at banks. For example at Morgan Stanley or Goldman Sachs - link:

Hope that helps!

I forgot to mention, you can also find grad jobs from these 2 links:

If I’m being honest, better you go do a masters in a degree that’s actually worth something and try and secure an internship. Cause that degree is genuinely useless, it’s brutal but it’s the truth.

I have realised quite later on that it's useless unfortunately

I have attended careers meeting my university but they seem useless as they've just told me I'm on the right track and that's all.

Once you get closer to finishing your course, you can always try applying to regular jobs instead of grad schemes. I would also recommend applying to some master's programs as a backup. There is nothing worse than getting to September with no job or further study, especially if you want to live independently.

Welp, and is this your second time then applying to grad schemes?

If so I would honestly say go and get the Masters, I know a lot of grad schemes won't even look at you with a Bach anymore, it's so competitive out there.

Uhh I see, due to my family circumstances it's really difficult for me to go back to do masters unfortunately.

Considered teaching? You can do a teaching qualification while getting paid if you already have a degree.

The other thing I have seen work for some people is applying to do internships. They are difficult to find as a lot of them want students still studying, but some will hand them out to graduates so they can build up experience for their CV.

Find a part time job while applying to full time jobs

Try looking for agency temp roles. It doesn't have to be a manual job but a job in an office, for examples, I worked in the civil service's call centre, it gave me something to do,also those kind of jobs build resilience. There are still grad schemes open on Prospects and Bright Network. Your degree is fine btw.

I'm sorry to hear that. Your University's Careers Service may have some skills workshops or careers fairs or events you could attend. Or you could ask them about whether they have opportunities for placements or internships for graduates. Best of luck!
