Hi @Jfagura

The BSc (Hons) Psychology course at LJMU does indeed have the option to go on a placement year. It is also accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). If you graduate with a 2.2 or above, you can apply for the graduate membership of the BPS and the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.

The website says that ‘Graduate membership of the society is the starting point for your career as a psychologist and is a prerequisite for many of the society's accredited postgraduate and Doctoral programmes, and is the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.’ You can read more about BPS accreditation at bps.org.uk

The course page can be found here: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduates/2025/35654-psychology-bsc-hons

For any more information about the course, please email the Course Enquiries team [email protected]

Hope that helps 🙂
