Hello,

The first question is have you visited both universities during an open day, yet? If not, I would highly recommend you do visit as an open day is a brilliant way of finding out about the university and it gives you a much better insight into the campus, facilities, department you’re interested in and accommodation, than the website and prospectus is able to.

During the open day, you are able to ask questions of the course tutors as well as the student support departments, such as academic skills, library staff, accommodation, finance, as well as student services. You will also be able to have a tour of the campus, and halls. Often the tours are led by students, so you will see everything from the student’s point of view, you can ask all the important questions about student life etc. Crucially though, you will gain a sense of the feel of the university which is something that’s really personal to you. Rather than look at league tables, it’s better to opt for the university that you l feel the most comfortable at, as if you don’t enjoy being there, you really won’t be able to do yourself justice and obtain the grades you deserve.

I hope this helps,
Jess
