How to pick an insurance choice

Hello! I'm a history applicant who's reallyyy struggling with where to insure and my college is pressuring me to pick sooner rather than later. My firm is going to be Durham (AAB) and I got AAA in my mocks (predicted A*A*A)

I have offers from
York - history (ABB A in history)
Manchester - history (ABB A in history)
Nottingham - history and contemporary Chinese studies (ABB)

I'm a little off put Manchester because I basically live there already and would ideally like to move away
York has a better history course to me than Nottingham from what I've seen but the Chinese side at Nottingham feels quite cool and it's the lowest entry requirements out of the 3 in case something goes wrong and I don't get the A in history. I don't really know much about York or Nottingham as places though

Any advice would be appreciated if anyone knows anything about any of those unis or courses!!!

Well, the first thing to say is that you should resist any pressure to make this decision before you're ready to make it. Take your time, because if you change your mind, it's very hard (often impossible) to undo your decision.

What is your predicted grade for History? Is that the A or one of the A*s? From what you've written above, you prefer York and your only concern is they mandate at least an A for History. If you're predicted an A* then you'd have to drop two grades for that to be an actual issue.

You say that you "don't really know much about York or Nottingham as places though." Does that mean you didn't attend open days at either uni? Are there any offer-holder days on the horizon?

Hi!

Congrats on hall your offers! Have you been to one of our offer holder days?

I didn't study History but I am a York graduate so if you have any questions about the campus or city, let me know! I had an amazing three years living in York - it's a lovely city and campus 🙂
