Newcastle Classical studies

Hi! I’m currently a first year fine art student at Newcastle but I’m planning on changing my course to classical studies which I had studied at a level. I’m considering whether to completely switch unis which is quite a stressful thought or whether to stay at the university as I do like the sound of the modules of their classics course and I could have the opportunity to do combined honours with art history which I’ve been enjoying. However, I’m quite concerned as Newcastle is quite low down in the rankings in general universities and for classics and so I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the Newcastle classical studies course and what the teaching was like? I’m mainly concerned with knowing whether the teaching quality is good and if the lecturers are passionate!! I also like the sound of the courses at Liverpool and Durham (and I meet their a level grade requirements) which I know are higher up on the rankings for classics and in general but it would mean moving away from friends and having to start university completely from scratch. Any help would be appreciated!!

Looking at the data from the National Student Survey, as published here on The Uni Guide, Classical Studies students seem to very much like the course:
