Profesh, why do more and more people have [username]'s as their Title? Not whoring yourself out to populism, are you?
No; my 'whoring', such as it is, is perfectly gratuitous.

Teehee. Goodness, I crack myself up.

Clicked on kingslaw's namelink on the first page of this thread and it lead to this:

The Student Room > Discussion Lounges > Health & Relationships
17 and still no girlfriend

I'll stop being a pest and come to terms with the fact that links will always lead you somewhere you don't expect to go. I'm just amused by the fact that out of all the threads it could lead to, it had to be....

Teehee.

Wit, toilet humour, it's a fine line.
yep, the difference being the destination of the humour, both originate from the same source.

On a related point, I know it's a bit late, but what's the difference between Labour and the Lib Dems?

One party talks $hit, the other eats $hit

My dear ladies, gentlemen and honorary officials of the Society,

As a follower of Mr Wilde - and amongst other things to have his likeness placed upon my profile - I have submitted an application for membership. I would be gracious if you would assist me in the achievement of this noble end.

Like TV, wit is aimed at intelligent people, toilet humour is aimed at everyone else. I can see how you came to your conclusion though....

The lack of TV viewing would make me believe that you are intelligent, but it could also be the case that you're too dumb to operate the idiot box. Nevertheless, welcome.

I don't think that this comment fits the frame of a fellow "Wit", in what ways does T.V fade someones intelligence? I'm feeling rather sceptical of your witness at this moment in time... Hmm... jk.

My quite right what? My quite right monkey, goldfish or pink polkadot parakeet? Surely the nature of wit, be it invasive or insular, should be concisely caustic.
PS: can I join your society
Why would I want to be sarcastic in brief ways? Why can't I decide to be constantly caustic?

I think that some people are trying to use articulism in an attempt to be of a witty calibre. And some people are using this 'articulism' in the wrong context and therefore have phrases which are in no way self-evident. This makes sentences undistiguishable in certain specific types of context.

Profesh,

Purely out of interest, why do you use so many semi-colons? It's amazing how you manage to fit one into the shortest sentence. Actually, it's commendable!

Yours,

Che!

who would use semi-colons; I defy thy semi-colon-using powers; semi-colons are for the grammatically digressive.

Who would use semicolons, let him first prove his worth against the full stop and capital letter.

Semi Colons are for the gramatically complete, so shut up.
