Should i mention the biology olympiad in my personal statement?

I am interested in applying to study psychology and neuroscience at university and majority of the schools I’m looking at applying to are Russells. I got bronze in this years biology olympiad and im not sure if its a good enough score to bring up

Yes, since not many applicants will have achieved any award in the Biology Olympiad.

Are you applying for Experimental Psychology?

Are you studying Maths, Biology and Psychology? 😧

Hello! Congratulations on your award 🙂 I would recommend mentioning anything that you think has transferable skills on your personal statement as it can still demonstrate that you are dedicated to expanding your learning from outside of the curriculum! You could always leave out the specific score if you are worried about it, but I am sure just the fact that you were involved is a great selling point and something that you could benefit from.

Best of luck with your applications!

Yes! I applied to neuroscience and psychology in Kings and UOM and got both offers and I mentioned about my biology Olympiad so yes!! Even if you didn’t get anything it’s good to mention it!

I got a bronze in the olympiad too (last year) and did not mention it in my personal statement and achieved an offer this year for EP, as well as psych + neuro at KCL. I would say it's good to put in but would not be the deciding factor- mention it if it's relevant e.g. in a section about an interest in biopsychology. If you find yourself over the count you can cut it out
