University of stirling Primary education

Hello, I applied to study at the university of stirling for their Primary education course with specialism in modern languages,I applied in November and still haven't heard from them.
I have applied to another one for secundary and i got respond for that one after 2 weeks of applying,I would like to know if this means i will get rejected or is just that they are taking their time.
Thank you

Hey I have also applied to Stirling. I applied twice for the inclusive practice specialism and the early years specialism.
FOI told me how many applications they recieved this year (for 2025 UG entry) is as follows:

1.

Early Years 503

2.

Inclusive Practice 204

3.

Literacy 178

4.

Modern Languages 50

5.

Numeracy 42

6.

The Environment 36

They say the first two normally only have like 20 places on the course, and the remaining 4 only have 7-9 spaces. So its really really competitive. They also tend to get back to people really late - end of March or into April.

I'm really nervous as I got rejected from Strathclyde (my first choice). I have a conditional from Glasgow but I'm not sure if I want to go to Glasgow, however Stirling is further away commute wise. I don't have all the grades yet but hope to get them this year and I'm a contextual applicant. What about you?

Hello, im in the same situation as you,im too a contextual applicant and applied twice to stirling university; for secondary teaching and primary teaching-both for languages-and hear back literally the next week for secondary teaching with BBB conditional offer. Is my last decision from all my choices and im quite stressed as i want to reply to my offers alredy.
I got rejected too from strathclyde because im a contextual applicant and i was hoping this choice to be my insurance.
If is not wrong for you, could i know what conditions you will need to meet, because you got an offer from Glasgow and i didn't applied there because the conditions were too high (grimhill campus), and what other unis you got an offer of or you are still waiting for.
Thank you for your response

The only condition for Glasgow was to pass the top up programme
For strathclyde, I dont think they paid attention to the fact I'm a young carer, they may have let me in if I was in a not so good postcode as that seems to matter more.
Stirling is very competitive for primary teaching, hence why I asked them how many applicants and places they had for this year, but I don't know yet if I will get any offer.
I've also heard from previous threads that if they can't offer you primary education, they might offer you an alternartive course but I dont really want to do anything else.

Oh i didn't knew they could offer you alternative courses? Do you know what type of courses they could offer instead of primary teaching?

Yes some past threads on here said Stirling had offered them eg Psychology if they weren't successful for Inclusive Practice (as Inclusive Practice has psychology elements in it). So they might try to offer a similar course if your chosen course is full, but only if that similar course has spaces and you meet the entry requirements. Its not guaranteed though.

Hey, dw is fine to ask, I apply modern languages specialism and got a conditional to meet 3Bs in different highers, I did good in my nat 5 but not in my s5 highers only achieving A and a C (so you could see I don't have the best grades) and I'm doing 2 subjects that I did last year again (is really good because when you do it twice you literally understand everything, I went from Cs that I was predicted last year to As this year) so I hope I will get hopefully AAB this year.
