Bournemouth Uni Physiotherapy help!

Hi all,

I am a mature student hoping to come and study physiotherapy at Bournemouth uni. I will need to apply for flexible working at my job however, and was wondering if any current students could give me an idea of their weekly time table. Have spoken to BU who said there are around 12-15 contact hours per week but would love an idea of how many days you have lectures, what kind of times etc. trying to plan ahead to see if this dream is viable!!!!

Hello!

It is great to hear you're interested in studying at BU! I understand you have already been in touch with us, but I just wanted to make you aware of Unibuddy, in case you haven't used it yet. Unibuddy gives you the chance to talk to current students at BU and there is a current student studying BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy on Unibuddy. You can also contact the teaching staff for the course, their contact details can be found via the course page.

If you haven't already, I also recommend attending one of our Open Days, they are a great way to meet the teaching staff and current students to find out more and ask any course questions.

I hope this information helps, but please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Anonymous #1

Our timetables vary each term. Most years we are in on Tuesdays and Thursdays but it all depends on the module.

Usually we had one long day from 9-5 on a Tuesday or Thursday and then a few 2 hour lectures on the other days.

2nd year was the busiest year we had in terms of regular lectures.

I hope that answers your question. Lots of students do jobs on the weekend and in the evenings we were always done by 5pm.

How many of the lectures are in person? Is there an option to access them virtually at all if you can't get into uni that day? on the days when there are only 2 hrs lectures, are these generally first thing in the morning or at random times during the day? Sorry, so many questions, the challenges of juggling a family and a job are many!

Hi OP,

Have you got a plan for how you'll juggle the practice placement hours of your course? You won't be able to do your paid job when you're out on placement.

Not sure if you've got this document but this is the programme specification for the BSc physio @ Bournemouth. It details the contact hours for each module (total hours not timetabled) and your placement hours (practice learning) per year. bsc physio programme spec
