Mnurse (adult) at the university of bradford

Hi, I was just wondering what the weekly class schedule may look like whilst not on placement. How many lectures Will there be each week and so on? Also how often are placement blocks and how long are they?

I did undergrad at Uni of Liverpool and Uni of Chester after having my son and taking a break.
For undergrad 3 year route it was Monday to Friday in uni mostly 9-4 in uni blocks and placements would be 37.5 hours a week.

At that time students were able to do long days so 3 x shifts 7am - 9pm with 3 x 30 minute breaks through the shift totalling 12.5 hours a shift.

Uni and placement blocks tended to be about 6 weeks each and I think around 8 weeks a year holidays.

It was heavy and I'm not sure how I did it more so once I had my son, then my daughter but I got through and qualified 2021.

Currently on a PGCE in Early Years though as found through a role as a School Nurse I loved working with children (adult trained).

I may in the future go into Health Visiting but right now I'm loving being in school and seeing the children come on in their education and working with children to get the best start in life through education and school being a safe space when home sometimes isn't that.

I can't speak for your uni but Nursing is an intense course, it really does open up so many oppertunites though and you will have placements you love and some you hate and can't wait to see the back of.

I found I loved community and public health but burnt out quickly in the hospitals. Having said that I still do both now as an agency nurse around my PGCE as I want to keep my PIN and still enjoy the nursing role, I just couldn't maintain it full time for my own health.

Morning @lucie [s]smile[/s]

How are you?

Current timetables can be viewed as a guest so you can get some indication of the time spent on campus, however it is with the caveat that timetabling can change year on year so what is in place for this year is not necessarily what will be in place for future years.

The timetables can be accessed via the New Student pages on the website under the heading ‘Accessing your teaching timetable’

https://www.bradford.ac.uk/new-students/before-you-start-your-course/teaching-timetables/

When the click on the link to access Publish you will need to select GUEST and then on the following screen
Timetable Type = Programme of study
Filter by Department = HEA
Search = type in MNurse and tick the relevant option.

For other course enquiries I’d suggest trying the faculty admin team, their email address is [email protected]

Thanks
