Foundation Year Transcript

I have completed an International Foundation Year at Coventry University. Now, when applying to other universities through UCAS, I have been asked to provide a transcript. However, when I requested it from Coventry, they responded that transcripts are not provided for foundation years, claiming it is part of their academic regulations. What should I do? Should I retake a foundation year?

Do Coventry have a student portal where you can take a snapshot of your results to date?

(Also a bit iffy of Coventry to try and prevent you going elsewhere by not providing this info.)

Then your options are:

Forward Coventry's response along with an unofficial copy of your grades and see what the other uni says

Make an official complaint to Coventry on the basis that their policy prevents you from exploring options elsewhere, and that this likely breaches UCAS business rules.

I have already raised a complaint once, and Coventry University responded that not providing transcripts is part of their academic regulations. However, when I tried to escalate to the second stage, they said that the appeal period had exceeded 10 working days.

In that case I would consider a complaint to either UCAS or the OIA.

In the meantime, you need to do this bit anyway, as any complaint will be long-winded:

Forward Coventry's response along with an unofficial copy of your grades and see what the other uni says

Hi this is something that someone told me at CUC a couple of years ago but ended up not being true. i managed to get it as I needed it this year for drama school. They emailed me colour copy a week later ( you have to request it if you want it sent by email too by typing it in notes)

You get it from a platform called HEAR. Once i signed up and ordered it took 5 days to be sents by email.

Hope this helps

Sorry I gave you the wrong one. But I would check that link first to see it come up on the database.

This is the website for the store which I purchased my foundation certificates.
which I found unfair that I had to pay as I never received it the first time but apparently “they sent it”

Oh really! Really sorry to hear that. The best thing you can do then is take a screenshot of your Solar account with all your grades. Apply for the uni you want to go to and then when you get on offer explain the circumstances with that proof. They may still consider you knowing you have studied it’s just unable to confirm this officially.
You may need to speak to a different team.

In my experience the records team that provides transcripts to students who have LEFT will refuse IFY transcripts. But your school/faculty office should be able to provide you with a transcript as a current student.

A good point, an interim statement of results (or whatever Coventry call it) is not the same as a finalised transcript.

They keep saying no since I was there.

Nothing you can do if you exceeded the timescale.

Either complain to UCAS or follow the advice above, (send unofficial results and Cov's response to you uni choices).

I’m also doing a foundation year, speak to your lecturer and see if they can provide you a copy of your grades on a document. If not screenshot solar and say that’s the only form of results on paper you can give them as your foundation year doesn’t provide a transcript

Have you tried contacting the dvc/pvc responsible for education. If you’re clear that you just want a formal proof of your marks and modules so that you can tramsfer elsewhere they might be able to cut through the bs
