Uni Recs

Does anyone know any uni’s around or in London where the student accommodation is one bed per room (I don’t have roommates basically)

Hi @lucyswillow I study at Kingston University and live in the university accommodation. I have my own bed and bathroom and share the kitchen with 7 people. I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I have not seen a uni accommodation where you share bedrooms.

Don't hesitate to ask further questions:smile:

Having roommates is pretty unusual here in the Uk in my university all but one of the accommodation options are fully en-suite single study bedrooms with shared kitchens on each floor some are in flat configurations while others aren’t.

As above, it's very rare to have more than one individual in a room although normally you'll be sharing a flat with multiple rooms (one per person) with shared kitchen/bathroom facilities. Some accommodation have ensuite bathrooms (i.e. bathroom in your room just for your use) although these usually cost more. There are also usually a very limited number of studio flats where you just live by yourself in a studio flat (although these may be prioritised for e.g. mature students or postgrads). Studios are also more expensive.

Usually it's made very clear if there are two sharing a room (it's also usually obvious because it's the cheapest one available typically). Offhand I think there's a handful of that accommodation type in some UCL accommodations which students can choose (although you can simply choose a more expensive, non shared room), in terms of London (outside of London I believe at Durham, first year University College students I believe all have a shared room).

There's also lots of private student halls around (including in London) which will be one room per student, although these may be a bit more expensive than university managed halls, but those will most likely have individual rooms as well.
