Wrong SFE year application withdrawn

I was a bit too keen and applied for SF a bit early,,, and then my application got withdrawn. UoN told me to contact SFE but I haven’t been able to get through on their phone line as it’s all a bot and the circumstances don’t really match anything that it says.

Can I just start a new application later or do I have to try and find a way to get through to them?? Help!!

Hi there,

Can you please tell us when your course begins?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi, sorry I didn’t see this. It’s September 2025 that I’m starting! I have ADHD and often miss these things so I accidentally applied for 24/25 instead of 25/26 :frown:

Hi there, have you received any correspondences as to why the application was withdrawn? (this would normally be sent via email to the email address registered on the account). Thanks, Stephen.

Hi yeah, it’s because the uni told them I’d left the course even though I had never attended at all, that’s where the issue is currently

Okay, that's no problem - you're fine to make a 25/26 application online now. This is the correct application to use, so we'll then get you approved.

Thanks, Graeme

I did get one that was then denied due to this. Should I try again?

Yes, it's definitely worth trying again - so if you click to apply again and then select 25/26 this should work.

If it doesn't please tell us here what happens.

Thanks, Graeme

I’ve just logged into my SFE account and it says application approved although I got an email saying otherwise a day or two ago. Should I go with what’s on the website? Or does it mean that the error from the uni was corrected?

Hi there, it is very possible that the university may have resolved this if they realised that there was an error, however, just more for peace of mind, I would advise to contact us to check the application status. You can do this over the phone (0300 100 0607) or via live chat.To access our live chat service from your online account, select 'undergraduate' and then ‘contact us’. From here you will be able to use our live chat service when it is available. Our opening hours are stated on our ‘contact us’ page. Thanks, Stephen.
