Midwifery funding based on previous bursary funded study

I have an unconditional place to start a f/t UG midwifery degree in September. I would like to find out what funding I will be eligible for based on a complex previous study history as I have already previously done part of a midwifery degree but was mostly funded by the old full NHS bursary.

2017/18 & 2018/19 - Year 1 + part of Year 2 but funded by NHS bursary, no SF tuition fee loan, partial SF maintenance loan
Withdrew (due to health) but then accepted back onto Year 2..
2020/21 - Year 2 with SF tuition fee loan & maintenance loan
Withdrew (again due to health)

2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 - Speech & Language Therapy degree - SF tuition fee loan & maintenance loan

Now been accepted to restart the Midwifery degree at a different university (wasn’t eligible to start part way through due to time lapsed/different modules so will be the full 3 year programme)
Technically only had one year of SF tuition fee loan last time - does that mean I am eligible for 3 more years, even though I had some maintenance loan in the other years?

Many thanks

Hi Bronnie,

If you're now doing a brand new healthcare course then your previous study would be disregarded as long as you're not already registered in the field you're looking to apply to. Thanks, Jason

Even if I have already studied part of the same degree previously (at a different institution) but did not complete?

As in, I did a part of “BSc Pre-registration Midwifery” but am restarting “BSc Midwifery” from scratch.

Hi Bronnie, as Jason previously advised, this is correct. Thanks, Stephen.
