I chose uni of sheffield for nursing cause I liked the fact they intake a smaller group than most unis to give people more individual attention (atleast thats what they said on the open day). Overall its very highly rated for nursing. But you've also got to consider where you want to live for 3 years - if you like liverpool as a city it might be the move for you - personally I loved Sheffield when I visited but I know some people that love liverpool. Have a look at both websites and look at student life as well as how they structure nursing courses (although you'll be taught the same stuff no matter where you go) and hopefully that'll help your decision. Good luck!

Hi josieannxx9,
Congratulations for your offers! Both are great universities, so it'll probably be down to which university environment you think suits you better! I am an MSc Cancer Biology and Therapeutics student, so I don't have any personal experience of nursing as a course, but I thought I could share some of the reasons why I chose Sheffield/why I enjoy being a Sheffield student.

First of all, I really like the friendly feeling on campus, and there is always lots to do at the award-winning student's union. For example, there are hundreds of societies and sports clubs that you can join which is great for meeting people with similar interests to you. For example, there is a nursing and health society which is great if you want to meet nursing students across all different years of study. Secondly, Sheffield is a really great city with an excellent mix of shops and cafes but also green spaces too. For example, Endcliffe Park, Weston Park and the Peak District (which is only about 20 mins away).

I chose to come to Sheffield as I attended an open day and was impressed by how passionate the lecturers were about what they taught. I also really liked the city of Sheffield as a whole, including the fact it has great public transport options to get to other cities too.

I hope this helped and please don't hesitate to ask me any other questions you may have about Sheffield!
