Student Finance Eligibility

I started studying in October 2019 at undergraduate level, deferred the next year because of the Coronavirus Pandemic (although I would say it affected my degree of choice - Music Performance - severely in my first year), before going back in 2021. I ended up dropping out that year to pursue another career path so I didn't gain a qualification from it. So I have 2 years of previous full-time undergraduate study.

Recently, I've been interested in going back to study at the Open University, where all of the courses are considered 'part-time' - I am aware that I could not study a 'full-time' course due to being short one year of funding. However, since it is a part-time course I will be applying for, am I eligible for funding?

Is there any chance? xD

Good morning,

If you don't hold a qualification and are studying at the Open University then you'd be eligible to apply for the funding. Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason,

I have since explored other study options other than the Open University and have now received offers for Bsc Mathematics courses on a part-time basis from other universities. Just wanted to clarify that my eligibility extends to all other universities that offer part-time study and not just the Open University!

Thanks for your help.

Hi gtpskillzz,

Yes, as it is part time, the same applies.

Thanks, Clare
