Insurance Choice

I'm trying to decide which uni to pick for my UCAS insurance choice. I'm applying for Biomed and Edinburgh Uni is my firm choice, but I have to pick between Edinburgh Napier and Dundee for my insurance. To be honest I don't want to go to either.

Something not so good would had happened if it comes to the insurance. Nobody would like that.

But this is Life, full of goods and not so goods. There are still some tiny bits of goods in the overall not so good. Try to enjoy the tiny bits and scale down the emotion on the not so good.

Dundee and Napier are also good unis, though not leading as Edinburgh. They are above my not so good threshold. Try to understand them more by going to the offer holder days and open days. You could dig out more of their goods.

Good Luck!

You don't need to have an Insurance, it isnt essential. If you aren't happy with either of those choices, just go with a Firm, and have a Plan B just in case - ie. Clearing or gap-year and resit.

Hi @Bee2008 ,

I'd love to give some advice on this situation.

It's important to have an insurance choice as results do not always go as planned, so a plan B is always a great option. However, if on results day you ended up having your insurance choice as your only offer, it does not mean you have to go there!

Picking your insurance choice
If you haven't already, I recommend going to an offer holder day at the universities if possible, this way you can decide which would be the better fit if you ended up at one of them. I also recommend looking at the type of campus, distance, module choices or other important factor to decide which university would be the better choice for yourself.

Alternative options
Clearing - If you are set on Edinburgh University, I recommend going through clearing on results day if you do not get in. Going through clearing to see if there is any spaces left does not mean you are rejecting your other offer, so do not be concerned. You will only be rejecting it if you accept a clearing offer.
Gap-year - You could take a gap year to work upon your grades and then apply again in January 2026.
Other universities - Another option is to try clearing at other universities, you do not need to only try clearing at those you have applied to.

Good luck with your exams, please feel free to ask me any questions,
