How does clearing work if I want to transfer from foundation year for first year

I want to transfer from my foundation year at Swansea to another university to be closer to home for health reasons, but I missed the UCAS deadline because I couldn’t get a sit down meeting with my academic tutor to get a reference written. I’ve already gotten the green light that my foundation year would qualify for transfer from my list of chosen universities, but since I missed the initial deadline I have to use UCAS extra which will severely reduce my chances at a successful place as I don’t want to settle for a safe option. I wanted to looking into clearing potentially as a contingency if I don’t get the place successfully, and I was hoping to see if there’s anyone else who’s been in my position or similar that could give me an insight into how the process went for them. Thanks in advance

I transferred after Foundation Year at Nottingham over to the University of Sheffield for a competitive course during clearing despite not meeting the entry requirements
Clearing works exactly the same as for a school leaver. You still need to meet the requirements so you need to confirm that they will accept your foundation year for entry to the course. You may as well contact them now before clearing to find out if any of the unis you would be hoping will have courses in clearing for your subject will accept it, so you don't waste time phoning up unis that won't accept your foundation year for entry to their course.

Remember a foundation year is not a qualification and will not necessarily be accepted by any other uni except the one you are at for entry into the first year of your degree subject.

You still get 5 choices if you apply now. UCAS Extra only applies once you have used up those five choices and are holding no offers.

The Foundation Year I had to get 60% or above in each Module. I ended up getting 60% or above in everything apart from 2 modules that were 57% and 40%.
