I don't know what to do

Let me start by saying I am currently studying a T-Level in Media. I have recently found and applied for an apprenticeship as a social media apprentice and it fits the criteria of what I want to do more than my college course. I started college in September 2024 and it is now March 2025. I really want to take this apprenticeship as I don't know if I'll ever have the opportunity if I wait and study my course.

In all honesty, my friends at college aren't the greatest either. They're on my course and constantly leave me out (hanging out together, ignoring me in college etc etc) and I have spoken to them about it and all I got in response was false promises. This has taken a toll on me mentally as it happened in secondary school too. All of this combined was the reason I had applied for the apprenticeship and got a response back in two days. I still need to go to the interview so won't do anything until I hear if I have 100% got the apprenticeship.

These situations have honestly put me in a difficult place as I've always wanted to do an apprenticeship however feel guilty leaving.

In the least rude way possible your friends aren't going to get you jobs/apprenticeships in the future, you should be able to feel comfortable prioritising yourself in a situation like this and if you don't, your choice may impact you more negatively later on. Whilst it may be hard given what you've said you've been through once you put yourself first no one can take that away from you. And its definitely not selfish in this situation.
