is life guard training hard

I want to take a life guard class bc if I do good and I could get a job as a life guard I would get paid more then my job I have rn and the local pool is short lifeguards so they are having the class free so I'm wondering what the classes and requirements are like and is it hard to pass? any tips?

you'll want to be a strong swimmer, but aside from that, they are not so hard to pass from what i've been told.
you may as well take the class and see how it goes if it's free.

Swimming and diving is the easier part. The problem is not with swimming but with having to drag someone off the pool.
In pool it is the easier part, the sea is very hard and have to have a special qualifications.
Being good in first aid and being aware of the surroundings is something you can learn with practice. However, some skills like bring able to swim with a weight on you is something you have to have prior the training.
I worked as a life guard in a kid's swimming pool in the summer break after year 12 for a month. They would never take me to the adults' pool because I was so underweight I wouldn't be able to carry a drowning person. But they did appreciate my first aid skills.
Isn't it a seasonal job?!

ok thank you and might as well try it bc its free (there goes 9 hours on Saturday and Sunday for the next 2 weeks)
