Finding uni house without flatmate

Hi, I don’t know if anyone can help me, but I want to live in a house next year for my second year at university. The thing is, I don’t have any friends on my course or a flatmate who wants to live in a house next year. The rest of my friends already have houses sorted with their flatmates.

Does anyone know if there’s a company that can allocate me a new flatmate so we can all live in a house? I don’t mind meeting and living with new people. My first-year accommodation is quite lonely, as I only see my flatmate twice a month, and they’re not very sociable or nice. It feels quite isolating, so I want to move out.

Most university houses are for groups of people who already know each other, but since it’s just me, I’m finding it hard to find a uni house that can match me with others to live with.

Hi Samie!

There are lots of roommate finder websites such as Spareroom, Roomster and easy roommate where you can post your situation and search for potential roommates based on your preference

You can also use social media such as facebook to try look for groups that are about finding roomate or about your university that you could post in

I would also look at apps such as bungalow or roomi to see if anyone is looking for a spare flatmate or someone to live with

Have a look on websites such as craigslist and gumtree to see if anyone can help you there

I would also reccomend going to student support at uni and seeing if they can offer you any help with finding a roommate! Obviously it depends on what uni you go to!

Good luck on your search!

Heyy! Idk if you have already sorted something out but I'm also in the same boat. What uni do you go to?
