Integrated or standalone masters?

Hello, im now reaching the end of my second year at a scottish university and have been given the option of applying for an integrated masters. im unsure on what do to, the integrated would be in zoology - and the stand alone one after the completion of my degree would be paleontology with geobiology. im wondering if i should apply for the integrated and if there are any benefits? im very unsure on what to do, my dream is to become a paleontologist but is it a risky choice to do that instead of a integrated?

any help would be appriciated

(p.s my university offers around 80 master places out of 600 life science students)

It may be good to note that funding wouldnt be a problem for the standalone - as student aid covers masters degrees in scotland
