Edinburgh, St Andrews & Strathclyde - Waiting for replies

I am getting so anxious, still waiting to hear back from 3 universities (Edinburgh, Strathclyde & St Andrews). Feel worried I’m going to potentially miss offer holder days and accommodation. My pals have got their 5 offers/rejections back, rhey applied to different uni’s for different courses.

I guess because you applied to the competitive unis for their competitive courses. They take time to go through the numerous applications.

You already have offers from the other 2 unis? Relax and do your bests in the exam.

2 out of 3 (Edinburgh & Strath) that I’m waiting for, would be my preferred choice of uni 🤞for offer.

Yes, I didn’t realise until recently these unis take longer (which is more stressful), but understand they have more applications to work through.

I will do my best in exams, just feel less motivated with this playing on my mind.

Yes, it is super stressful.

Don't be frustrated. There may be a long wait, their deadline for reply is May. It will be difficult but the only thing you can do is to set it aside for the moment and concentrate at your exam. You are not alone.

And don't worry about 'accommodation'. Unis do not run out of rooms -- so ignore all the myths about this.
Most wont open accom applications until June, they don't prioritise early applicants for 'better' rooms, and most dont actually allocate specific rooms until after Results Day in August.

You won't. If you think about it, 100s of those applying for accomodation wont get the grades in August and will be rejected - and 100s of others will defer, withdraw, change their minds etc. All their rooms go back in the pool - plenty for everyone.
