Masters with a 2:2?

I want to apply for masters courses in development but I have a 2:2 undergrad degree, will russell group unis accept me? Like KCL, Warwick?

You could apply to SOAS! Also for other unis it depends on your work experience

Hi,

Many Russel Group universities require a 2:1 minimum requirement to apply for their Master's programmes, however, some universities are flexible and will consider you if you have relevant work experience alongside your degree.

KCL notes that they require a 2:1 but are open to considering applications who don't meet this grade requirement:

A minimum 2:1 undergraduate Bachelor’s (honours) degree
If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).

This will likely be the case with a lot of different universities, so it is worth looking at each university's specific requirements.

Someone in the thread has mentioned SOAS and it is a university that is worth looking into. Whilst it is not a Russell Group university, SOAS is ranked 5th in the world for Development Studies and accepts a minimum of 2:2 so it is likely that with a strong supporting application, you would be offered a place.
