What have you given up for Lent?

As we've now into the early hours of the 5th day of Lent, have you given anything up? If so, what? How is it going? Are you finding it easy? Difficult? What are you doing to distract yourself when you find yourself wanting that thing?

Nothing as I don’t do lent, but if I did do lent and had to give up anything this year, then I’d give up juice.

All juice (I dislike orange juice unless it’s mixed in with another fruit). So I’d only be drinking water and milk.

I tried to give up spending 60 quid per bottle of Barolo but it's not worked out for me.

Puddings, not especially difficult. I tried to give up tobacco last year but haven’t repeated as I realised I was making myself insufferable so that’s halved this year. More difficult by far!

Puddings as in all desserts?
Or specifically things with "pudding" in the name even if it's not a pudding - like Yorkshire pudding - as well as actual "pudding" puddings like treacle pudding, sponge pudding, plum pudding?

As in desserts Yorkshire, black or suet is fine, treacle tart not! Frankly black pudding as in fry-ups would be harder. I must remember to give up fried breakfasts next year, thank you, truly.

I don't participate in Lent but I'm trying to give up adding extra salt to my food :colondollar:

Well, tonight I avoided the Barolo and the Amarone in favour of a cheaper (1/3 of the price) Toscana.

A success.

I've given up snacks, gossip and complaining. Giving up complaining is so hard because it's just habit at this point, but I'm trying my best!

I haven't given up anything for Lent in several years. I have psychosis which traditionally flares up very badly during Lent since the year 2010... so I figured I suffer enough and do Lent in my 'own way', without adding any further practices or penances to it

Before 2010, I used to try and give up chocolate (including hot chocolate!), which I found quite challenging. Following on from the conversations above, giving up fried breakfasts would be a good shout for me, as I am rather fond of them :colondollar:

Wishing everyone a blessed Lent! :grouphugs:
Nothing. I don't celebrate lent.

I don't do lent either, but it's interesting to see what people are giving up 👀
