yes you definitely can, if ur getting 7s and 8s its probably not bc u dont know the content, but bc of exam technique so id practice 4-6 markers as hard as u can if ur not getting 6/6 on those. do u think u struggle with time management or anything like that?

No i seem to have time left at left at the end, but if it is exam technique then i am still unsure on how to refine that properly ,i hav been given advice that i should redo the ones i got wrong, but may i ask how are you certain that 7s can be turned into like the top end grades, what would your thought process be in my situation? idk if tht sounds bad, but i am trying to say u seem confident to turn those 7s into liks 8s/9s , how would your thought process look lik to find the solution to this situatuion, if u k wt i mean?

we only had proper mocks in december and then a few paper 2's in feb/march so it wasnt too bad, but also having mocks close to ur exams can be a good thing since everythings so fresh in ur mind so u dont have to revise it too hard. and yes ofc ill dm u the flashcards and booklets when i get to school. and thank you soo much im sure ull do great in life considering how dedicated u are in y10!!

Thank you so much!!

:hugs:

Not aimed at me but if I was you, I would do practice papers and mark them / get them marked and then use the grade boundaries to kind of indicate whether what you are doing now is working? Not sure if that helps, lol.

tysm! i didnt use any other apps but an important thing to do is find the time of day u revise best in, for me thats early morning (between 8-11am) and late at night (7-10pm) and stick to those times. also find out if u revise better in long chunks or with taking breaks in between, for me i can do 2 hours at a time and not get tired, but i literally cant revise unless im listening to music lol. also going out to cafes and doing independent study with friends can be good too, if that works for u its good to change up ur environment! also, try and do a little bit of each subject a day, so for example dont spend an entire day doing 4 hours of bio. i know some people made a revision tracker where they ticked things off as they went along and its kinda silly but having a sense of accomplishment can be a good motivating factor as well. so basically find the conditions that make revision the least terrible for you and stick to those!

tbh at this point its literally just practice that can help u improve, dont revise the stuff u already know and maybe look back at topic tests uve done at school and revise the topics u score low in. im honestly not really sure abt ur specific situation though so idk how much help i can be sorry ☹️ but definitely go to each of ur subject teachers and ask if theres anything u can do to improve

geography is just doing past papers and making sure u know ur case studies really well, i made flashcards for everything because i really struggled with all the 4 markers. also, if u do igcse edexcel 8 markers are litearlly the most important thing on the paper, do tonssss of practice and give ur teacher questoins to mark

hii, sorry to respond so late but i replied to someone else abt sciences and compsci so check that response, for further maths apart from doing a few papers i had this one sheet of paper on my wall with things i needed to memorise that i constantly updated, like matrix transformations and when a point is a minimum / maximum point, and other things that i always forgot. theres not much else u can do tbh but watching videos on things u dont know how to do is sooo underrated for things like product rule for counting (which i found so hard)

hi, so firstly congrats!! I wanted to do edexcel igcse economics through self study, how did you study for this and what resources did you use, how did you find the course and was it manageable on top of other subjects etc. thanks so much!

hey, tysm!! tbh the econ content isnt at all hard to self study and theres not a lot of content, whats difficult is writing the essays (6 9 12 markers). id recommend watching videos and making a bank of notes for the content, i never used any youtubers bc my teacher was a godsend but you could defo find people who have entire playlists for the course. i also have a friend who made notes for the entire course on google docs so if u want i can ask him for that too

after initially learning the content, write up as many papers and essays as u can and send them to ur schools econ teacher to mark if ur school offers the subject. if not, u could just ask anyone whos done econ to give u feedback, and if u dont know anyone id honestly be happy to help u out as well as i currently tutor a y11 for gcse econ anyway! lmk if theres anything else

thank you so much for the tips! do you think it's worth getting the textbook since i'm quite worried that videos may not cover everything i need for the exam, because i've seen a lot of summary videos rather than full lessons. i'm in yr9 now so i want to start properly learning the content before we start gcse subjects. would you say the exam technique for essay qs is similar to geography, because i'm taking that in school so that would be useful. and, would you recommend any specific websites that helped you as well? thanks again!

omg youre a y9?? u are gonna be fine lol ur so much more prepared than i was. yes the edexcel textbook is really good for making notes as well but the case studies are kind of useless so dont pay too much attention to those i think. also no i dont thikn its similar at all, geography especially i found the 8 markers really hard and you have to treat them differently since you have to use your own case study knowledge. i guess the only similarity is you start by defining the main term in the question and 9 and 8 markers both have 8 paragraphs?

geography was sooo hard to revise for me. you need to have extensive case study knowledge and the 12 markers you need to practice them so much when you get to y10/11. i just made flashcards for the content and case studies based on the textbook and exam paper markschemes (defo do this for like 4 mark processs questions) then near exams i did every paper possible!

ok thank you! i will look for the other responses but that sounds like a good idea- tbh i used corbett maths for quadratic simulatenous equations and it rlly helped me
