physics with foundation yr at Manchester ?

Hey all I’ve got an offer from the university of Manchester for physics with integrated foundation year
Just wondering if anyone else has the same and what your thoughts are on going, and if anyone is currently on the foundation year or completed it, what are your thoughts?
I’ve heard it’s hard to get the pass mark to progress to physics but idk
Ive got offers from other unis for tbr straight course but I really loved Manchester so I applied for the integrated foundation year anyway

I've got an offer for the standard entry but I've had a look at the foundation year course and it looks like it would set you up nicely for the first year , the content looks like A-level then a bit beyond that. I think the main things you'll have to consider is do you want to spend an extra year to get your degree doing it Manchester as opposed to your other choices. If you really think its right for you then you should by all means go for it because if for whatever reason you don't like Manchester by the end of your foundation year you should be able to transfer. They are asking for grades like ABB so if your getting those I think as long as you do your work you shouldnt have to worry about not passing

I'm goung through the exact same decision. I like the look of UOM and the job opportunities after but im unsure if i can justify the extra year when other places offer straight onto the course. Have you decided anything yet?

Hey, yeah i decided not to go through with them, rather than spend that extra year I would rather take a gap year. I do love the university and think the course is amazing but an extra year just isn’t for me. It depends how important the course is to you though, if you are really passionate about Manchester and would like to go as soon as possible it might be a good idea as their standard entry requirements are much higher and way more competitive.
