Is psychology a level well respected??
hi I’m in year 11 and will be choosing my a levels.
I’m certain on doing history and politics (and EPQ) but looking for a 3rd subject
I don’t want to do another completely essay subject as I tend to hate essays.
I’m either considering psychology or biology.
Is psychology considered a “soft” subject and as I’m already taking another, I guess, less traditional subject (politics) will this hinder my chances of getting into a really good Uni?

not necessarily it will depend on what course you want to apply to

Psychology is solid A level subject, but is also essay-based.
Do you have any ideas about he sort of degree subject etc you might be aiming at?

Then it makes sense to pick a 3rd subject that you will enjoy studying, and where you feel confident of a good grade. Don't worry about what 'looks good' - for History, the only required subject is History, and all any Unis will be interested in for the other 2 subjects is the grades.

Because the only required subject for History is .... History.
Therefore Unis do not care what the other A level subjects are - they could be Dance and Physics - all they are interested in is the grades. They literally do not look at what the other subjects actually are.
