National 5 English

For anyone who studied english at national 5 and attained a good grade, how many main body paragraphs did you do for your essay?
I'm studying Curley's wife in Of Mice and Men, and currently I have four main body paragraphs - talking about her flirtatious presentation, the fact she's only named 'Curley's wife', her loneliness & isolation, and her failed dreams. With an introduction and conclusion as well, would four paragraphs be enough to get me an A in the final exam? I used PEEL and have at least two quotes and two explanations in each paragraph, I stated what each technique used was and covered things like contrast, sentence structure, characterisation, etc. Is this enough?

I am studding higher english this year and managed to get an A in Nat 5 last year. I studdied a diffrent text but only wrote 3 main body paragraphs (as well as an intro and conclusion). This is what our class was advided to do by our english teacher who also marks for the SQA exams. In each paraphragh I had 3 quotes and analysis.

It sounds like you are doing well so far. If you are able to write 4 paragraphs in timed conditions that that is great and the varitey of teqniques will also help. As long as you also have some evaluation and links to the question then you sould be fine.

I hope this helped and the best of luck in your exams. 😄
