This is usually very straightforward, just ask your school - and get it done as soon as you can.
And I've never known a student not get a higher grade so its definitely worth doing.

You don't need to. If you include the GCSE resit alongside your A levels as a 'pending qualifications on your UCAS application, any offers you are made will just include the required GCSE grade as an extra condition. and you would have until August to get the right GCSE grade. The only advantage with taking it in November is that you then have the June sitting as another chance,

If you feel confident enough, revise over the summer, take it in November and get it out of the way?
Talk to your school and ask for their advice.

I did the same thing. I’m in year 13 now and resitting this summer. Talk to your college about it but mine let me resit in in November. In Year 13, I started lessons for the November resit. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get the grade I wanted so I’m doing it in May. Definitely worth asking to do it in November though. You put it on ucas as a pending grade. Once you get your grade you can email the universities. Your offer will still be pending after A level results until you tell them your GCSE grade.
