Undergraduates starting at Edinburgh uni in September?

Hi :-)

I'm going to be going to Edinburgh uni in september this year and I'm hoping to meet some people on here that'll be attending with me. I'm studying Neuroscience so if you're doing biomed, theres probably some overlap in our campuses/lecture halls, but I'm happy to talk to people doing any course !

Hi! Unconditional offer holder for vet med here. Probably won't have any overlap with you in campus but we'll both be doing bioscience related things I guess😂 Have you looked at any societies you're interested in?

Hey, Congrats on your unconditional! I actually hadn't thought to check the societies yet, so thanks for the idea! I'm going to look into it some more, but the baking and best buddies societies are looking interesting :-)

Im going to join sooo many societies, especially pridesoc and maybe dinner with a stranger tp get out of my comfort zone. I also really love hockey/unihoc/shinty but can’t play at school, so hopefully I’ll be able to do that at Ed. I’m also vaguely interested in learning pole dancing… Overall I’m just very exited haha.

I must've overlooked dinner with a stranger when I was reading all the societies, that sounds cool! I'm also pretty excited just reading all of the options lol

Hi, I am hoping to start edinburgh in September doing electrical and mechanical engineering just got to get the grades now. I would love to join the mountaineering society as I love climbing and hiking and join the wild swim society to try something new. Probably going to join the uni gym so hoping I meet people through sports. What accomodation are you guys looking at??? I haven't applied yet as I can't decide but im definitely going to put down Hermits Croft as that one looks so good.

Hii, I accepted my unconditional offer for Biomedical sciences at edinburgh a month ago. I'm fairly certain there will be overall in the courses, especially first year so its cool to already know someone else who will be there!

Yes, I think everyone in the Biomed umbrella studies the same things for the first two years, aside from elected courses, so we’ll probably be in the same lectures a lot! That’s super exciting :-) Have you applied for accommodation yet? I got and accepted my offer yesterday !

I think after around 24hrs you should get the option on your myEd, on the student life tab then accommodation if I recall correctly. I don't think they will prompt you to so you keep checking till it's available 🙂

I've waited 48 hrs now and it says 'Unfortunately you do not meet the criteria to apply for university accommodation. This could be because you have only recently accepted your place to study at The University of Edinburgh, if this is the case please wait 48 hours before making an application.'

just wondering if that was something anyone else experienced as i'm pretty certain I meet the criteria for uni accommodation?
